A Little Touch of Home
This will be our first shipment that will be packed on September 13. Following conversations with soldiers from the unit who have been deployed before as well as Chaplain Kerstin, these are the things they have requested:
- toothbrushes
- shampoos that are scented
- nice smelling body wash and lotions (like Eucerin, Bath and Bodyworks, etc.)
- travel size Febreeze
- face wash
- individual packets of drink mixes to go in water bottles
- flavored teas.
Please bring these items by September 13!
Children's Books
Our children are invited to bring books to send to the soldiers. Chaplain Kerstin will have a place they can read the books and be videoed. These videos
can then be streamed or
sent to the children of the soldiers who are home and missing their deployed parent!
Prayers for the Prayer Quilt
The Calvary ladies made a beautiful prayer quilt for Chaplain Kerstin and we need to fill it with prayers. On Sunday, August 30, September 6 and September 13 there will be index cards available for us to write prayers of love and support to the soldiers. Chaplain Kerstin will put these in the quilt for her congregation to take. In addition, she will take the prayers from our prayer chain and distribute them to her congregation so they, in turn, can pray for us.
