Senior Adult Ministry

During the month of March we will continue our regular Senior Adult afternoons on Wednesdays from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. for games and activities, followed by dinner at the Calvary Café. We will also continue our 2nd Friday evenings at Jerry’s Bistro on March 12.
In addition we are scheduling an outing to the Kimball Art Museum on Tuesday, March 2, from noon until 3:00 p.m. to see the special exhibition of the Texas Collection of European Art. Tuesdays the admission is half-price ($6.00), and we can eat lunch there also. If we have enough going we may take the church bus. Contact Pastor Eric if interested.
The annual Seniors Retreat is being held at Briarwood Retreat Center on March 12 – 14, beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and ending after lunch on Sunday. The retreat includes worship, Bible study (led by Pastor Jane Mar, assistant to the Bishop), bird watching with Stephanie Varnum, hiking, card and board games, interesting workshops, and of course wonderful food by Top Chef Norman.
The workshops include: Senior Fitness; Genealogy “Chasing your Ancestors”; inexpensive Travel Opportunities for seniors; Looking Beyond Tomorrow (wills, finances, etc.); and Arts and Crafts. Cost of the retreat is $90. (50% discount from regular rates). Pastor Eric has brochures with further information. Let’s get a group together from our church!

In December, the group took a tour of the Cowboy's Stadium. A great turnout and great fun!
